| Senior certificate Tel: +27 12 420 3585 E-mail: [email protected] Sakie Seoka is the technical assistant in the sculpture studio of the Department of Visual Arts. He is a practicing artist who started his career as a stone carver. He has worked as an assistant in Guy du Toit's studio and was appointed at the University of Pretoria in 2008. He has participated in a number of exhibitions and competitions, including Thami Mnyele Art Awards (formerly Ekurhuleni) and Sasol New Signatures. In 2005 Seoka was awarded the PPC Young Concrete Sculptor's Merit award. He recently completed a commission for an outdoor sculpture at the University of Pretoria's refurbished entrance in University Road. |
