Kyle holds a MA degree in Information Design. He lectures both undergraduate and postgraduate Information Design students in the Department of Visual Arts and also co-ordinates software training for Information Design and Fine Arts students. Kyle has a particular passion for typographic and editorial design, although he also works extensively in broadcast design, motion graphics and branding. Kyle completed his Masters degree in 2016, which explores the relationship between iconic design and experiential form in the selection and application of type.

Kyle Rath has a keen interest in typography and how it is mediated and interpreted as both a linguistic and non-linguistic design tool in contemporary, popular culture. He focuses on a range of theorists including Steven Heller, Ellen Lupton, Michael Rock and Theo van Leeuwen (to name a few). He is also interested in research in the field of animation, motion graphics, title sequencing and branding.
