The mentor programme is a peer/buddy system to guide Fordham Ubuntu students in learning about South Africa, its people and its diverse culture and customs; seeing and experiencing South African events; making friends; adapting away from home; settling in residence; providing emotional and well-being support; introducing opportunities for learning, and experiencing new and different things.

Remuneration package
- R 3, 850 per month
- Lived in mentors: Free accommodation and two meals per day
