Dream2 Sessions

Taking technology education to new dimensions

The LLITUP Collaboratorium presents different Dream2 sessions throughout the year.

The Dream2 sessions originated from the appreciative inquiry process that underpins all the activities in the LLITUP research unit.  There are three types of Dream2's, namely Dream2Play, Dream2Learn, Dream2Research.  Our activities also develop in this specific order - play, learn, research.

Dream2Play:  We play with different device to figure out how it can be used in education. During Dream2Play sessions our participants experience this hands on.

Here, the Dean of the Faculty of Education is having fun at a Dream2Play session with the versatility of a selection of mobile devices.

Vastratech kindly provided a variety of interactive white boards for a few days for students and staff to play and figure out how it can be used in education.

Dream2Learn:  We host sessions where people can share their ideas, tips and tricks on the integration of technology in education.

Here teachers from across the region are enjoying an interdisciplinary inter-app-tive time in the LLITUP Collaboratorium.

At another occasion, third year education students participated in a Groenkloof Campus Race, focused on mobile learning principles.

Dream2Research:  The play and learn activities germinate into research that can be shared.

The first of these sessions we had a networking opportunity for post graduate students in Computer Integrated Education (CIE) to share their research ideas and endeavors.  At another occasion Prof Marlien Herselman from the CSIR Meraka institute shared the importance of structure in post graduate studies as well as information about innovative research in Information and Communication Technology

The Collaboratorium hosted a Danish representative from iMotions Global and academics from different disciplines and Universities to share ideas on sensory data tracking and analysis.
