An interesting PhD study: The effects of Life Sciences knowledge on Grade 11 learners' behaviour towards HIV/AIDS in KwaZulu-Natal

Scholars argue that the philosophy of education should be the transformation of lives. However, in practise, this philosophy fades away.

Findings in this study undertaken by Lindelani showed no evidence to suggest that Life Sciences influences the behavioural preferences of its learners. Furthermore, it was found that learners, teachers and experts suggest that Life Sciences currently does not cover several concepts which in theory have a potential to transform the behavioural preferences of learners. Overall, it appears that life Sciences is unable to transform lives as the philosophy of education recommends.
