Call for submissions: Inaugural edition

The Journal of Decolonising Disciplines (JDD) is pleased to invite contributions to its inaugural issue which will appear in August 2018. As an intellectual space, the JDD aims to provide a platform for considering decolonising strategies in all disciplines across the various faculties of the university. While the debate on decolonisation has been largely limited to the faculties of Arts/Humanities and Social Sciences, we recognize the need for a journal that will encourage a transdisciplinary conversation on decolonising all disciplinary knowledges at the contemporary university. With that aim in mind we invite contributions from scholars in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Health sciences, Law, Education, Engineering, Built Environment, Natural and Agricultural Sciences as well as Theology and Religious Studies to this inaugural and all future editions of the JDD.

We especially welcome contributions that reflect, not only on decolonizing disciplines, but also on the manner in which such engagements with decoloniality will contribute to transformed curricula and pedagogies. Given this focus on both the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of decoloniality, we welcome both theoretical as well as applied and study-based approaches to decoloniality.

Interested authors are invited to submit their articles with a maximum length of 10 000 words to [email protected] on or before 31 May 2018.

For Author Guidelines on submissions, please consult the Journal webpage.

The editorial board of the JDD looks forward to receiving your submission.
