Recent Trends in CFT & the Gauge/Gravity Correspondence

The 7th Joburg School on String Theory was held at the Mandelstam Institute for Theoretical Physics at Wits from August 29 - September 2nd, 2016. Aimed at MSc and PhD students from all South African universities, it consisted of lectures on both introductory and advanced topics in Theoretical High Energy Physics.  The lectures were supplemented by accompanying tutorials.

The aim of the school was to expose our local South African postgraduate students to exciting recent developments in String Theory and the AdS/CFT correspondence, while at the same time providing them with some of the background required to benefit from the workshop later in the year.
