The ATI are collaborating with the WU Global Tax Policy Center at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business who has launched the Tax and Good Governance Project 2015-2018. The project is funded by the Siemens Integrity Initiative. The project will play a key role in the fight against tax crimes and illicit activities in Africa.
The Project aims at identifying links between corruption, money laundering and tax crimes. The Project promotes the concepts of good tax governance and the importance of a corrupt-free and transparent tax system for economic development and how law enforcement agencies and tax authorities can cooperate to counter corruption and bribery. The Project focuses on Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa, with a view to extending to additional countries.
