Honours Module in Conflict

The Department of Political Sciences offers an Honours module in Conflict and Mediation.

The module has the following aims:

• To acquire an understanding of the key academic and policy debates regarding international mediation.
• To learn about the dynamics and challenges of international mediation.
• To appreciate the difficulties of mediation from a practitioner’s perspective.

Master of Diplomatic Studies

The Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria offers a module in International Mediation as part of its Master of Diplomatic Studies programme.

The module has the following aims:

• To develop an understanding of the key academic and policy debates regarding international mediation.
• To provide students with key concepts that are useful in analysing conflict and conducting mediation.
• To develop analytical and strategising skills for the purpose of mediation and other forms of peacemaking.
