The University of Pretoria (UP) is proud to announce that three of its former Chartered Accountancy students who performed brilliantly in their Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy (CTA) at UP in 2016 and passed their Initial Test of Competence (first CA professional exam) in 2017, excelled in the second and final CA professional exam, the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), written in November 2018.
Mark Champion, Megan de Vries and Michael Mills are privileged to appear on the APC Honours Roll. To put this achievement into perspective, 3 037 students sat for this challenging final exam and only 12 top candidates (0,4%) were placed on the Honours Roll. Considering that UP only contributed about 7% of the candidates who sat for this exam, having 25% of the candidates on the APC Honours Roll is indeed a sterling achievement. This again highlights the fact that UP remains a top CA education institution and that our 94% average pass rate in the January ITC over the past 12 years, as well as UP’s 99,5% combined pass rate in 2018 after the June 2018 ITC, is well-deserved!
