Thato Seabi, Masters student in the Department of Civil Engineering, was awarded second prize at HydroVision 2017 in Denver Colorado for his paper "Maximising Energy Use of Islanded Rural Hydropower Electrification System. Thato is supervised by Mr Marco van Dijk who has received several awards for his work on small scale hydropower systems.
