The Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology held its biannual advisory board meeting on 30 September 2016. This meeting was attended by senior members from the faculty and Industries i.e SA Road Agency, Exxaro, Pricewaterhouse Cooper Exordia, DelQS, IBM South Africa, Bosh Projects, Sasol, Arup, Eskom, Tenova Bateman, ACTOM, MIT, Department of Science and Technology, Vanchem Vanadium Products, and Glencore

The faculty Dean, Prof Sunil Maharaj did a presentation giving an overview of the EBIT faculty highlighting the research focus areas and the achievements of 2015/16.

The meeting ended off with delegates visiting two Labs for demonstrations by:

• Prof Hans Grober: Civil Engineering Railway Lab

• Prof Schalk Els from Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering: Vehicle Dynamics Research and visit to Heavy Machine Lab
