Apart from the academic and related support and clinical facilities, students and staff have access to a well-equipped cafeteria and OTM in the academic complex. The closest branches of the major commercial banks as well as virtually all retail shops and outlets are situated in Pretoria North (5 km) as well as in the Kolonnade shopping centre some 8 – 10 km from the Faculty. The Onderstepoort Post Office is just across the road from the Faculty on the premises of the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute but within easy walking distance.

Sporting facilities include rugby/soccer fields, squash and tennis courts and a swimming pool. Students also have full access to the sports complex and facilities of the University of Pretoria situated close to the Hatfield campus some 25 km away.
