Golden Hands Initiative

Greetings

Thank you for taking an active interest in volunteering for the Golden Hands Initiative.

Part of the society's mission is to enable members to realize their potential through the advancement of academics, leadership and service (our three pillars and also the focus of our projects) .

The UP chapter prides itself in achieving gold and silver status awards in prior years for its initiatives, thus it is our aim to continue to do so.

There are three services initiatives that you can sign up for, you are not limited to only one but please carefully select based on your schedule.

Please find below a brief description of each project and the contact details of the project manager from whom you can also obtain more information.

1. Educational initiatives: Tutoring and mentorship.

Tutoring high school scholars and providing career guidance.

Leadership and mentorship for learners that are elected as class representatives. This will cultivate the leadership potential within each pupil at a primary school level.

Please include your matric certificate, CV and a brief motivation as to why you want to tutor.

2. Service initiatives: General volunteerism

This comprises of various projects in partnership with the various institutions, schools, NPO's and assisted home facilities.

Please provide a brief motivation and attach your CV to your response.

3. Event management:

This will comprise of assisting the GK UP Chapter with preparation of events. The responsibilities may vary from assisting with set up, pack up, gofer services, attendance capturing and guest ushering .
