Application/registration procedures

Any person who wishes to register at the University for the first time, or after an interruption of studies, should apply or reapply for admission to the University. When considering studying at the Department of Engineering and Technology Management you also need to apply for admission to a specific programme at the Department before you can register. Do not complete any registration forms before you have been contacted by the Department to register. Please refer to the links to the various programmes for detail information.

Class attendance

Student/lecturer contact is considered to be crucial. Class attendance is compulsory and important.

Foreign students

Please contact the International Office of the University of Pretoria for help.

Qualifications from other countries

Candidates who are in possession of engineering qualifications obtained from institutions outside South Africa and which are not listed in the Washington Accord will only be considered for admission to the BEng (Hons) if he/she is registered as a Candidate Engineer or a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Students should approach the Engineering Council of South Africa directly for registration and should bear in mind that the duration of this process is a minimum of four months, and a fee is involved.
