The annual Law Faculty Festival is back and this time with more fun, more activities and a good time to sit and relax with your fellow students and lecturers. This year's theme is 'Year of the womxn'.
The Faculty Festival will run from 15 to 17 August 2018, with the grand finale on 17 August.
The theme for the 2017/2018 Outreach Porrtfolio is the promotion of the greater inclusion of marginalised groups of students on campus. As Law House Outreach, our main aim for our portfolio this year is to address issues affecting students and marginalised groups of people on campus.
Earlier this year, we hosted a social event for students living with disabilities. We are now also currently in the process of obtaining information from students and lecturers regarding the needs of students living with disabilities through an online survey.
Law House also runs a text book drive, inluding a donation of law textbooks to the Merensky Library, and we have obtained sponsorship from Werksmans Attorneys for the second semester book drive.
We are also working closely with our Faculty Student Advisor, Mrs Farhana Hassan, in implementing a winter food drive.
In keeping with the theme for this year's Law Faculty Festival, 'Year of the womxn', we will be donating comfort packs to an organisation which assists rape victims.
