Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for general institutional supervision with a view to, inter alia, ensure compliance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act, Act 101 of 1997 as amended.

As a member of the University Executive, the Registrar, Prof Caroline Nicholson, is the line manager for the Legal Services Division, the Internal Audit Unit, Information Governance, Employee Relations, the Department of University Relations and the UP Archives. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for corporate governance and provides secretariat services related to the meetings of the University Executive as well as the University Council and the various statutory bodies and committees.
