Professor Attahiru Alfa

Dr. Alfa is a professor of telecommunication systems at the University of Manitoba, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was NSERC Chair for tele-traffic from 2004 to 2012. Dr. Alfa teaches courses on telecommunication networks, queueing theory, optimization and network theory. He has authored a book, “Queueing Theory for Telecommunications: Discrete Time Modelling of a Single Node System”, published by Springer in 2010.
The NRF approved the submission for the appointment of the SARChI Chair is Advanced Sensor Networks in 2014.
Professor Juan Cousseau

Juan Cousseau was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He received his B.Sc from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS), Bahia Banca, Argentina in 1983; his M.Sc Degree from COPPE/Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil in 1989 and his PhD from COPPE/ UFRJ in 1993, all in Electrical Engineering.
He has also been with the Graduate Program at the same university since 1994. Prof Juan Cousseau is a Senior Researcher of the Consejo Nacional de Cienca y Tecnica (CONICET) of Argentina.
