A sing and dance competition for all the first years in student houses (this includes residences and day houses). Every student house has one performance choreographed and coached (according to a theme) by the Culture External HC member of the respective student house. Every group has their own band to make music and perform together in a syncronized manner.

UP Arts
The focal point of this event is to provide a platform for UP students to showcase their talents which includes dancing, singing, poetry, etc. This year, STUKU has collaborated with RAG, and UP's Got Talent will take place at RAG of hope Day.

Expression is a themed yearly art and literature expo held over the course of a single day. The main focus is to introduce students to art done by their fellow students and to give exposure to up and coming artists, as well as to give students a constructive platform on which to voice their views. There are two categories: Literature and Visual Arts.The theme this year is Who are we if not African?
Nothing but Vernac is an exciting new platform for cultural expression that focuses on storytelling in various languages . The aim is to help evolve the language awareness and develop a new, creative, and competitive pride in the beautiful South African languages. Stories can be presented in the form of short plays, monologues and dialogues.
Expression and Nothing but Vernac will be a combined event that will be held on 7 March 2019 on the Aula grass.
There is no entry fee for this event, but we are asking for donations of non-perishable food and/orher donations for students in need.
All Student Houses (Residences, Faculty Houses and Societies) of the University of Pretoria will be participating in the Tuks Debate Tournament. Student houses will be debating on a variety of motions.

STEP IT UP
A sing and dance competition for all the students in student houses (this includes residences and day houses). Every student house has one performance choreographed and coached (according to a theme) by the Culture External HC member of the respective student house. Every group has their own band to make music and perform together in a syncronized manner.
This event will take place on 30 April-2 May for Prelims. 4 May for the finals
The annual A Capella competition is hosted by STUKU. Any residence or day house of UP can participate by registering a group of 10 to 20 participants through their house committee.
The groups are coached by talented individuals and judged by experienced and musically driven individuals. Each group participates and dresses up according to a theme chosen for themselves. An own composition (that suits the theme) and a prescribed song (announced annually) forms part of the performance. This event promises to be both harmonious and entertaining. Category winners for best own composition, best prescribed song and best show is announced on the night of finals for both the men and women categories.
Make sure to join a residence or day house to have your chance to shine on the stages of UP.
