Student Life

Make the most of your time at UP by having an active and interesting student life.  There are various student structures that organise the large variety of student life activities on campus.  You can decide where you want to become involved and you can choose to take part in more than one of the structures listed below to experience new things and make a difference.

SRC (Student Representative Council)

The SRC is the students' governing body at the University.

 

SRC Sub-committees

These committees facilitate many of the student life activities that the Faculty Houses, Day Houses and Residences take part in.

The SRC Sub-committees are:

  • Student Culture (STUKU)
  • Student Sport Committee (SSC)
  • RAG

 

Day Houses

Day Houses take part in extra-curricular student activities and plays a similar role as that of a residence.

The Day Houses at the University of Pretoria are:

  • Docendo 
  • Dregeana
  • Luminous
  • Vividus Ladies 

 

 

 

Faculty Houses

Each Faculty of the University of Pretoria has a Faculty House which every student is automatically part of.  Faculty Houses offer various professional and personal development opportunities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Societies

Registered students may choose to join any of the more than 100 registered societies on campus.

 

Special Programmes

These programmes are managed by Student Development and offer various development opportunities for students.  The programmes are:

  • Enactus
  • STARS Mentorship
  • Golden Key
