Similar to South Africa, the Government of Azerbaijan is strengthening the tourism sector to increase its contribution to the economy through educating tourism professionals and researchers for the industry. The Azeri economy currently relies heavily on its oil producing sector. At the meeting the Azerbaijan Government was also represented by the Attache of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in South Africa with South Africa being represented by the National Department of Tourism.
