Maternal and Fetal Medicine

Welcome to the Maternal and Fetal Medicine Unit. Our unit provides specialised care to pregnant women with high risk pregnancies. Our aim is to provide a centre of excellence in managing medical problems in pregnancy as well as the diagnosis and treatment of all conditions affecting fetal wellbeing. The Unit runs clinics at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital and Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospitals.

Maternal and Fetal Medicine Fellowship

The fellowship program is designed to train specialist obstetricians and gynaecologists in the sub-speciality. Our program offers extensive exposure to high risk obstetrics, critical care, ultrasound and opportunities for research.
