Sending print jobs to your TuksPrint queue (4 options)

Printing procedure

There are currently four TuksPrint printing options available to students:

 

Option 1:   TuksPrint on a University of Pretoria (UP) campus (Follow-Me)

•      Log on to a UP computer, whether in an IT laboratory or library.

•      When printing a document, select the  printer TuksPrint (set as default), and print.

•      Go to your nearest TuksPrint MFD to release your print jobs.

 

Option 2:   TuksPrint Direct – printing directly to a designated printer

•      Log on to a UP computer, whether in an IT laboratory or library.

•      When printing a document, select the printer for TuksPrint Direct. (The relevant TP code of

       the  MFD will be displayed.)

•      Collect your printed documents from the designated MFD.

 

Option 3: File transfer from any Internet-connected PC, laptop or device

•      Sign in to the Student Portal.

•      Under the portlet, TuksPrint select TuksPrint functions.

•      Log on to TuksPrint mobile print using your Student Portal details.

•      Once logged on, select the TuksPrint ‘Upload new print job’ option, select your file/files and 

        upload.

•      Go to your nearest TuksPrint MFD to release your print jobs.

 

Option 4:  Email from your smart mobile device or laptop

•      Send the file/files you wish to print as an email attachment from your TuksPrint-linked email

       address (only the linked email address will work) to [email protected].

•      Go to your nearest TuksPrint MFD to release your print jobs.

Note that your linked email address is the email address registered on the Student Portal.

 

TuksPrint releasing submitted jobs

·         Go to your nearest  MFD to release your print jobs.

·         Swipe your student card and input your 5-digit PIN.

·         If you have a new student card that is not yet registered, enter your Student Portal details to

          register your card.

·         Go to the TuksPrint application (Konica Minolta MFDs) or Y-Soft SafeQ application

          (Samsung MFDs), and select ‘Print’.

·         Select the files you want to print from the list displayed and print (on the MFD).

·         Log out after completing your print jobs.

 

TuksPrint scanning

·         Go to your nearest TuksPrint MFD.

·         Swipe your student card and insert your 5-digit PIN.

·         If you have new student card that is not yet registered, enter your Student Portal details to register your card.

·         Place your documents on the MFD’s flatbed (face down) or feeder (face up).

·         Go to the TuksPrint application (Konica Minolta MFDs) or Y-Soft SafeQ application (Samsung MFDs), and select ‘Scan’.

·         Your scanned file/files will be sent to your linked email address.

·         Log out after completing your scan jobs.

 

TuksPrint copying

·         Go to your nearest TuksPrint MFD.

·         Swipe your student card and insert your 5-digit PIN.

·         If you have a new student card that is not yet registered, enter your Student Portal details to

          register your card.

·         Place your documents on the MFD’s flatbed (face down) or feeder (face up).

·         Select ‘Copy’ and press the ‘Start’ button.

·         Log out after completing your copying jobs.

 

Please note: MFD stands for multi-function device and refers to a Konica Minolta or Samsung printer/scanner.
