Access tickets for guests

Guests need to bring either their identity document/driver’s license/passport as a form of identification before access can be granted.

Four (4) guests for candidates/graduates and six (6) guests for doctoral candidates are invited to attend the ceremony. Guests are requested to take their seats at least 20 minutes prior to the commencement of the proceedings. Children younger than six years are not allowed.

Please note that you will be sent an SMS/Whatsapp message/email at least five days prior to the  date of the ceremony from which you have to download your guests' access tickets. Please follow the steps as indicated below:

  • Download the link sent to you;

  • If you have a smartphone, the bar code will be scanned from the smartphone as access ticket. Send the bar code to the smartphones of your guests;

  • For all other cellular phones, you will be sent a personal identity number (PIN). Send/print the PIN to your guests to serve as their access tickets.

Guests who are unable to show the bar code or PIN, will not be allowed to enter the graduation ceremony.

 

Please take note of the following:

  • The right of admission is reserved at all graduation ceremonies of the University of Pretoria.

  • All students and/or their guests must comply with the applicable rules governing the graduation ceremony at the University of Pretoria.

  • All students and/or their guests must comply with the instructions of the Co-ordinator of the graduation ceremony.

  • Students and/or their guests may be requested to vacate the University’s premises should the Co-ordinator of the graduation ceremony deem it necessary.

 

Disabled candidates/graduates/guests

  • Disabled candidates/graduates should please contact their Faculty for special arrangements.
  • Guests who are disabled or frail will be accompanied by staff of the University of Pretoria (dressed in blue golf shirts) to special seats reserved for disabled and/or frail guests.
