The Department of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology (GGM) strives to be a national leader in education and research that is recognised internationally for academic excellence in the fields of Geography, Geoinformatics, Meteorology, Earth Observation and Environmental Sciences. These fields revolve around the central theme "THE SCIENCES CONCERNING OUR CHANGING LIVING ENVIRONMENT." The Department, with academic offerings from undergraduate to postgraduate levels in Geography, Geoinformatics, Meteorology and Environmental Sciences, is proud in being a facility in Africa for Africa. The Department also liases closely with the Centre for Environmental Studies (CFES), the Centre for Geoinformation Science and the University of Pretoria's Water Institute.
