TuksLaw stays abreast of Sustainable Development

From 2 to 3 September 2015, a lecturer in the Department of Procedural Law and post doctorate fellow in the Department of Jurisprudece, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria presented papers at the International Conference on Sustainable Development in Athens, Greece.  Ms Rashri Baboolal-Frank presented a paper titled 'Revolutionising The Civil Courts in South Africa Through Information Technology' and Dr Gerard Emmanuel Kamdem Kamga's presentation dealt with 'Rule of law and human rights on hold: The emergence of extreme emergency in modern states'. Both papers were well received by international peers.
 
The Conference was jointly presented by the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Law (ICIRL) at Laurentian University, Canada, Centre for Research in Social Justice and Policy (CRSJP) at Laurentian University, Canada and Ontario International Development Agency (OIDA), Canada.
 
The multi-disciplinary papers that were presented stayed true to the theme of "Innovating ideas for a better world". Both presenters thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will participate again in the future.
