The Junior Olympic section follows the rules and regulations as set out by the code of points of the International Gymnastics Federation’s (FIG) Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Code. The pathway of progression would be from the FIG Class 4 programme into the Junior Olympic section.
The South Africa Gymnastics Federation has however developed an alternative route through the normal Level 4 and higher competitive programme. Level 8, 9 and Olympic Entry sections have based their requirements on systematically introducing the requirements and difficulty of the Olympic sections.
Entry into the WAG Junior Olympic section is at age 13 and exit at age 16. Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, MAG Junior Olympic section is at age 14 and exit at age 16. Rhythmic Gymnastics, Junior Olympic section is at age 13 and exit at age 15 years.
