UP Chapel Pipe Organ

 

UP CHAPEL

The organ in the UP Chapel was built by die Austrian firm, Rieger Orgelbau in 2013. It was designed by Josef Glatter-Götz and Prof Rudolf Scholz. The instrument was originally built in 1982 for the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst (the University for Music and the Performing Arts) in Vienna, Austria. The instrument consists of three manuals and Pedal with 35 registers. It was masterfully intonated by Christian Metzler.

The organ was inaugurated during a festive concert on 07 August 2013 by Prof Wim Viljoen, Prof Theo van Wyk and Dr Ockie Vermeulen.
