Gerald Stell is a Research Fellow of the Centre for Linguistics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and of the University of Pretoria. His research focuses primarily on ethnic integration and language variation in Southern Africa in general, and variation in Afrikaans in particular.  Contact: [email protected]

 

Pawel  Zajas

 

Pawel Zajas is Professor in the School of English (Department of Dutch and South African Studies) of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) and a research fellow of the University of Pretoria. He teaches Dutch and Afrikaans language, literature and literary theory. He has published extensively on South Africa in Polish and Dutch literature. His new book on German, Dutch en Polish non-fiction will come out in May 2011.

Michel Lafon 

 

Dr. Michel Lafon (1950- ), a research fellow at the Centre for Research on the Politics of Language (CentRePoL) located in the Department of Afrikaans, is a French sociolinguist attached to the (French) National Research Centre. He has been collaborating with CentRePoL since 2005. He is presently seconded from his own research team Llacan to the French Institute (IFAS) in Johannesburg to carry out research in the use of African languages in education in South Africa. This research is supported by funding provided by IFAS and it has been one of IFAS’s programmes since 2007.
