Recently graduated Dr C Tipoy

Christian Tipoy is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He completed his honours degree at the University of Kinshasa before enrolling for the University of Pretoria’s Masters’ degree programme in Economics.  While completing his degree, Christian was employed as assistant researcher at the former Centre for Inclusive Banking in Africa of the University of Pretoria. After his Master’s degree, Christian enrolled for the PhD programme under the supervision of Professor Martin Breitenbach. His PhD thesis examined the impact of exchange rate undervaluation on economic growth for a set of emerging economies. Christian obtained his PhD degree during the September graduation ceremony. Since 2014, Christian is based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where he holds a position of lecturer at the school of accounting, economics and finance. His research interests are mainly developmental credits and applied macroeconomics.
